Bachelorette couple Georgia Love and Lee Elliott have separated after nine years together.
In a statement shared to Instagram on Friday, 35-year-old Georgia said, “After nine wonderful years together, including four as husband and wife, Lee and l have made the incredibly difficult decision to lovingly part ways.”
Describing their relationship as “special”, the journalist said that they remain friends and the memories they created together will always be cherished.
“There is no drama, no bad blood. Just two people who have grown in different directions while still holding deep respect and care for each other,” she said.
Lee, 42, also shared the same statement on his Instagram Stories.
Speculation that the couple may have split has been swirling for a number of months after Georgia was seen without her engagement or wedding rings.
While visiting a friend in New York without Lee in December last year, fan speculation about a potential separation led Georgia to comment on Instagram, “We didn’t [split], actually.”
“Best to stop speculating, least of all on my own page. If I had anything to tell you all, I would do so myself.”
The couple met on the 2016 series of The Bachelorette when Georgia chose Lee over runner up Matty Johnson - who went on to find love with Laura Byrne on the following series of The Bachelor.
They became engaged in 2019 and wed in 2021 in an intimate ceremony in Tasmania.
