Just when Swifties thought all hope was lost, a surprise final release of tickets was announced on just days out from The Eras Tour opening night - but sadly it’s already sparked heartbreak for some who fell at the final hurdle.
Frontier and Ticketek threw one last lifeline to fans and announced a limited number of tickets, including $65.90 restricted view seats, which went on sale Tuesday 13 February.
Tickets for all three Melbourne concerts were up for grabs first Ticketek website at 2pm AEDT, and they sold out within an hour.
Tickets for all four Sydney concerts are still up for grabs though, and will go on sale at 4pm AEDT.
Ticketek has warned fans the sale will continue until allocations are exhausted in a “first in best dressed” battle for one last chance to see the US megastar.
Following Melbourne’s ticket allocation being exhuasted, fans rushed to social media to share their frustrations.
One tweeted: “This is just getting ridiculous let me in Ticketek!!” with a second saying: “I don’t believe in heaven or hell but if I did I’d know which one I am in now… again.”
However, a small handful of fans were lucky, with one tweeting excitedly: “After months and months of not being able to get a singular ticket after multiple sales not being let in past the lounge, I finally got into the lounge and managed to get a B reserve to #erastour.”
The final drop comes as nothing short of a miracle for thousands of fans who missed out on tickets ahead of The Eras Tour premiere date this Friday 16 February in Melbourne.
Swift will perform her highly-anticipated show in front of the largest audience of her career to date when she hits the iconic MCG stage this week.
The star’s three Melbourne shows will also see Swift break the MCG’s record for the most tickets sold by one artist at the venue.
After Melbourne she will head to Sydney to perform four back-to-back shows at Accor Stadium from the 23-26 February.
Special guest Sabrina Carpenter is set to perform as the opening act across all seven Aussie shows.
The latest chance to see Swift comes months after a batch of spots opened up across all venues, offering discounted seats in exchange for a partially-obstructed side view of the performance.
Earlier this year, Swift had also added two more shows to the Aussie leg of her popular tour following overwhelming demand for tickets during pre-sales in June.
More than a million fans had flooded the Ticketek website in the hopes of securing one of just 450,000 tickets to the initial three Sydney and two Melbourne stadium shows.
It is estimated Swift’s Eras Tour will rake in an eye-watering $1.5 billion globally, making it the highest grossing tour of all time.
It marks the first time Swift has been to Australia since her Reputation tour in 2018.
In the years since, she’s released four new albums and re-released several of her earlier records.
Eras will cover a full sweep of her music catalogue, with more than 40 songs over three-and-a-half hours.
Based on the US shows she’s performed so far, the performance will be split into 10, non-chronological “eras” for each of her albums.
It begins with six songs from Lover, moving into three songs from Fearless, five songs from evermore, four songs from Reputation, one song from Speak Now, four songs from Red – including the 10-minute version of All Too Well – seven songs from folklore, five songs from 1989 and wrapping up with seven songs from Midnights.
