PREPARE for Brostralia when reformed pop band Bros play live Sydney in November.
The UK duo’s show at Qudos Bank Arena on November 4 will take place exactly 29 years after their first show in Sydney during the height of ‘Brosmania’.
It is being billed as their only Australian show and will follow comeback concerts in London in August.
Outside of the UK, Australia was the biggest market for Bros with hits When Will I Be Famous, I Owe You Nothing, I Quit, Drop the Boy, Chocolate Box and Too Much.
Once twins Matt and Luke Goss announced their comeback tour eager Australian fans pestered local promoters to get the brothers back down under.
“The Australian fans came up with the hashtag #brostralia which was brilliant,” Matt Goss said.
“They were relentless in the best way possible. They set up social media pages and made it very evident they wanted us to come to Australia if we were getting back together.”
Original member Craig Logan, who left Bros after their debut album Push, now works in music management (he signed Pink) and passed on joining the reformation.

“People assume Matt and I didn’t want Craig on this tour,” Luke Goss said. “The reality is he’s a grown man and a very successful guy and I don’t think he has any desire to do it. The fans need to know that getting back with Bros is not something Craig has expressed any desire to do in 30 years. Matt and I never said ‘No you can’t join’. He made a very strong decision to not be a part of it any more, that’s his prerogative.”
After Bros split in 1992 Matt continued with a solo career and a Vegas residency while Luke moved into acting.
“People recognise me and Matt could have crumbled and dissolved into the abyss of the entertainment world but we stuck with it,” Luke said. “I think people recognise we’re doing this (reunion) because we want to do it, not because we need to do it.”
Tickets for Bros go on sale at midday on May 5 from Ticketek. A VIP package will be available including sailing with Bros on a private cruise on Sydney Harbour.
