A young couple who met on an ABC reality show have gotten engaged in one of the sweetest proposals you’ll ever see.
Olivia, 24, and Zach, 23, were set up on the first season of Better Date Than Never, which aired in January last year.
From the creators of Love on the Spectrum, the show follows a diverse group of single people taking their first steps into the dating world.
Viewers watched as Olivia and Zach quickly fell for one another – bonding over their mutual love of Taylor Swift on their very first date.
Fast forward to 300 takeout coffees later, and the Queensland-based pair have gotten engaged at Swift’s concert in Melbourne.
As Swift sang the Love Story lyrics, He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring, Zach got down on one knee and asked Olivia to marry him as the crowd around them cheered in celebration.
Speaking to news.com.au, Olivia said she had “no idea” her boyfriend was planning to propose at the show.
“The concert started, and we were dancing and having a good time, and then it was getting to Love Story and Zach’s family members pushed back some chairs,” Olivia said.
“I thought they were making us a dance floor. I had a dance, a bit of a boogie, and I turned back around and he was on his knee proposing to me.
“I didn’t know what to feel. I’m so happy. It was honestly really, really special.
“He timed it very well. And I even said ‘Yes’ on time [with the music].”
And the Swift tributes will, of course, carry on when they start wedding planning, with Olivia envisioning the pop star’s favourite colour, purple, will form the theme.
“Let’s just say I want a big purple wedding and a purple wedding dress,” she said.
“And our first dance will be to Love Story.”
The couple’s fairytale romance began in August 2022, with Olivia saying she knew “straight away” Zack was the one.
“I remember that very first date, I couldn’t stop my heart from beating so fast,” she said.
“When I first saw that spark between us, I couldn’t describe it.
“I’d never been in love before, this was my first time, and that scared me.
“When I went home that night, I told my mum, ‘I really want to marry him’.”
The new season of Better Date Than Never airs Tuesdays at 8.30pm on ABC TV or binge all episodes now on ABC iview.
