REBOUND was one of the first music festivals to take place in the country since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and people flocked from all over the country to be a part of the action.

The sold-out festival brought acts including Lime Cordiale, Illy, Hermitude and Mallrat to the stunning seaside stages set up at Darwin’s Ski Club yesterday.

As is usually the case with music festivals, there was a range of weird and wonderful fashion choices on display, notably Jake Cribb, Tyson Walker and Daniel McGregor who donned crowns and capes for the occasion.

“We’re the three wise men,” Mr McGregor said.

“The kings themselves.”

Punter Bianca Scott, from Cairns, said when her friend in Darwin, Asahel Heeney, asked her to come to a music festival she couldn’t believe her ears.

“She called me and she said ‘do you want to go to this festival?’” Ms Scott said.

“I was like ‘there’s a festival? Are you kidding?’

“I’ve been stuck in Cairns for so long, it was the perfect opportunity to come and visit.”

They say being in the Top End means their lives have barely been impacted by the virus.

“I love Darwin. It’s got holiday vibes, outdoor living. It’s exactly what I thought Australia would be like,” said Ms Potts. “It feels so good to be at a festival for the first time in ages,” said Ms Ball.
