Occasionally, something fun happens on the internet, like someone pointing out that Chase Stokes is dressing like a Gen Z version of Keith Urban.
For those who don’t know, Chase Stokes, 31, is an actor known for his role in the Netflix series Outer Banks and his relationship with country musician Kelsea Ballerini, 30.
The young couple are basically Nicole Kidman, 56, and Keith Urban, 56, in reverse: He’s the actor and she’s the country star. Like Keith and Nicole, they love a bit of PDA on the red carpet.
TikTok user Jasymn posted a video of Chase and Kelsea at the Met Gala and described him as a “yassified Keith Urban”. Her theory went viral, amassing over 500,000 views.
Now, for those of you who aren’t down with the slang, yassified means making something more glam, extra, fabulous. It means the same thing as slaying.
Basically, Chase Stokes is just the Gen Z version of our beloved Keith Urban. Online people were stoked by the theory and had fun with it.
“Keith Urban has been yassified since day one,” one argued.
“I thought it was Keith Urban,” another admitted
“I’m so glad someone else noticed,” another wrote.
“I said the same thing!” one wrote, with the comments of people agreeing pouring in.
“True.”
“I’ve been trying to put this into words, and you’ve read my mind.”
“Yes! I couldn’t figure it out at first.”
Besides releasing country bangers and nuzzling Nicole on red carpets, Keith is a style icon, which can sometimes get forgotten because Nicole is so fashionable, but Keith’s always there beside her, looking gorgeous.
For one thing, Keith has always kept his mane of hair constantly gorgeous and the highlights are unmatched, and he isn’t afraid of adding some rock and roll edge to a standard red carpet outing.
He is a big fan of leaving his shirt a little too unbuttoned, loves to wear some oversized shoes for a big outing and is always prepared to rock the hell out of a suit.
Chase might be decades younger, but he is going down a similar fashion path.
Firstly, he’s dating someone who always looks incredible on the red carpet, but he’s also pulling a Keith and wearing classic fits but adding a little edgy twist.
Not to mention, he also has a gorgeous head of hair, with eerily similar highlights. Once you look at the photos, it seems like Chase could have been inspired by Keith.
They are two men who aren’t afraid to show off their décolletages by rocking plunging necklines … or, in Chase’s case, no shirt.
Of course, Chase won’t reach his true Keith potential until he starts wearing giant hoof coverings.
One detail about Keith that often gets forgotten is that he is a fan of wearing giant shoes. Fans do not discuss this enough, but they occasionally notice it.
In 2013, a foot spotter took to Twitter and tried to expose what was happening, like Tracy Grimshaw locating a shoddy tradie.
“What kind of shoes is Keith Urban wearing? They look like clown shoes to me,” they asked.
This tweet was unfairly disregarded.
No one replied, no one liked it, and it just sat there on the internet.
The truth was spoken, yet it was ignored. Thankfully, people didn’t give up, and in 2015, someone tried to raise awareness of the issue again.
“Is Keith Urban wearing clown shoes?” they asked.
Once again, the tweet was ignored. Fast-forward to 2021, and someone, being courageous on the internet, posted a photo of Urban on The Voice with his feet once again encased in giant trotter coverings.
“Does Keith Urban intentionally wear clown shoes or does he have huge feet?”
Chase will reach his Keith potential when he steps into the suitable set of oversized shoes.
