Keith Urban has been making a big fashion choice for years that we can’t keep ignoring
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have been spotted on the red carpet together – but there’s a detail in the photos that will leave you shocked.

It is a rare day that country singer Keith Urban manages to upstage his movie star wife, Nicole Kidman, but thanks to some enormous shoes, he has done it.
The pair turned up at the Annual Country Music Association Awards, and Urban, 56, wore the most oversized shoes anyone has ever seen.
Like ever.
The power couple were both in matching black outfits. Kidman looked tasteful, tall, and elegant, and Urban looked like the little rock star he is.
The country singer had popped on some flair pants and a silk-looking shirt, leaving the top buttons undone for aesthetic purposes.
It was the shoes, however, that attracted the most attention.
The shoes were just huge, clown-sized, ridiculous-looking, completely overshadowing his outfit. Yet, despite how big they were, they still didn’t make Urban taller than Kidman.
Urban looked like he’d robbed a Bratz doll, popped on their detachable feet, and worn them to the red carpet.
The huge shoes were hard to miss, yet there’s been almost zero commentary on them online.
Kidman was very savvy and posted a photo on Instagram of their night out together but cropped out Urban’s earth grippers.
After some online sleuthing, it became clear that this isn’t the first time the star has popped on some comically large shoes.
Urban actually has a history of wearing giant shoes. It is a pop culture fashion trend that people need to be talking about.
If we can spare time to discuss Guy Sebastian’s fedora obsession, we need to discuss Urban wearing impossibly big shoes.
Occasionally, some brave person has noticed that Urban is partial to some giant hoof coverings and tries to sound the alarm.
In 2013, a foot spotter took to Twitter and tried to expose what was happening, like Tracy Grimshaw locating a shoddy tradie.
“What kind of shoes is Keith Urban wearing? They look like clown shoes to me,” they asked.
This tweet was unfairly disregarded.
No one replied, no one liked it and it just sat there on the internet.
The truth was spoken, and yet it was ignored, like when Guy Sebastian won Australian Idol, but Shannon Noll ended up with the number one song that year in 2004.
Thankfully people didn’t give up and in 2015, someone tried to bring awareness to the issue again.
“Is Keith Urban wearing clown shoes?” they asked.
Once again the tweet was ignored by a cowardly society that isn’t ready to have a tough conversation.
Fast-forward to 2021 and, someone being courageous on the internet, posted a photo of Urban on The Voice with his feet once again encased in some giant trotter coverings.
“Does Keith Urban intentionally wear clown shoes or does he have huge feet?”
The question remains unanswered and it is unclear if Urban has giant feet or loves oversized shoes but, like all taboo topics, we must break the stigma and start talking about it.
