Jason Kelce breaks his silence after ugly clash

Jason Kelce has opened up after smashing the phone of a student who made a vile comment about his brother Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

Jason Kelce has broken his silence after smashing a university student’s mobile phone.

Kelce, 36, the brother of pop star Taylor Swift’s NFL player boyfriend Travis Kelce, did not apologise for his actions but expressed regret.

“I think everybody’s seen on social media the thing that took place this week. Listen, I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it. In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don’t think that that’s a productive thing. I really don’t. I don’t think it leads to discourse, and it’s the right way to go about things, and in that moment I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have,” Kelce said during his appearance on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown”.

“I think, the bottom line is, I try to live my life by the Golden Rule. It’s what I’ve always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I’m going to keep doing that moving forward even though I fell short this week.”

Kelce, a retired Philadelphia Eagles centre, was visiting Penn State’s University Park Campus for College Game Day on ESPN.

He exchanged fist bumps with students and posed for selfies but snapped when a university student heckled him, using a disgusting slur.

“Kelce. How does it feel that your brother is a f****t for dating Taylor Swift?” the unknown man yelled out.

An enraged Kelce snatched the phone out of the heckler’s hand, threw it to the ground and stormed off.

Things turned even uglier when Kelce then exchanged words with the heckler.

The heckler chased after Kelce, saying something inaudible about his phone.

Kelce then replied, “Who’s the f****t now?” before walking away.

The Kelce clan has been thrown further into the spotlight since NFL star Travis was confirmed to be in a relationship with Swift last year.

Both brothers are regarded as among the best ever players in their positions.

Travis is the star tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs and is a three-time Super Bowl champion.

Jason won the 2017 Super Bowl with the Eagles and the Kelce brothers co-host a wildly popular podcast called New Heights.
