“I’m so excited for this year’s season, I feel like all the horses are incredibly strong and it’s going to be a big year.”
Ms Pearson has a background in sports presenting and hopes to play a part in sharing the qualities of Darwin and the Cup Carnival with the rest of the country.
“I was born and bred in the Territory,” she said.
“It’s exciting to be able to share the Territory in such a nice light to the people who follow me, it’s such an amazing place and isn’t showcased enough.
“The Darwin Cup has such an exciting environment, it’s a really unique race day and it’s so different to the ones in Melbourne because it’s so intimate and allows you to enjoy your time.
“I can’t wait to contribute to the success of this prestigious event, whilst also showcasing some of our wonderful retailers and designers during the Carnival.”
Darwin Turf Club Chief Executive Grant Dewsbury said Ms Pearson was an outstanding choice and one who possessed all the qualities aligned with the role of being this year’s Carnival Ambassador.
“Bronte is a big supporter of Darwin and of thoroughbred racing and has been a frequent attendee of many Spring Carnivals in Melbourne and several Darwin Cups,” he said.
