A NEW data study has found which schools receive the least government money in the Territory. How did your child’s school compare?

RURAL and remote schools are some of the least funded in the Territory, found a new investigation on school funding.

An analysis of every school on the federal government’s MySchool website has revealed exactly how much money schools are getting from state and Commonwealth coffers over a three-year period.

REVEALED: Essington leads list of NT’s richest schools

The comprehensive analysis of the most recently available data shows the Northern Territory school which received the least government money was Tipperary Station School in Tipperary.

Over the 2015, 2016 and 2017 year Tipperary Station School received $1.2 million.

Of that money $283,671 came from the federal government and $886,250 came from the Northern Territory Government.

In 2017 the combined state and federal government funds totalled to $68,289 per student, with seven students enrolled the same year.

Douglas Daly School in Douglas Daly was the second least funded school in Northern Territory receiving $1.2 million over the three year period.

Of the money $922,980 came from the Territory government and $286,086 from the federal government, while in 2017 the combined state and federal government funds totalled to $41,320 per student, with nine students enrolled the same year.

The third least funded school in the state was Mbunghara School which received a combined $1.5 million in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

DARWIN’S richest schools revealed

Of the money $1,153,060 came from the Territory government and $328,474 from the federal government.

In 2017 the combined state and federal government funds totalled to $57,679 per student, with nine students enrolled the same year.
