ROB McPhee has been appointed the new chief executive of the Danila Dilba Health Service, the NT’s largest Aboriginal health service.
Mr McPhee will begin in the role at the end of August after he was selected by the Danila Dilba board.
It comes after the organisation’s chief executive Olga Havnen, who held the role for eight years, resigned earlier this year.
Mr McPhee comes from Broome, where he has worked as the deputy chief executive and chief operating officer at the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services for the past six years.
He has also worked in the energy and university sectors.
“I’m excited to be commencing in the role at the end of August, and getting to know the community that Danila Dilba has served for 30 years,” Mr McPhee said.

“I’ve admired Danila Dilba from afar for a long time.
“It will be a real privilege for me to lead an organisation with such a deep commitment to the health, wellbeing, and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.”
Danila Dilba chairwoman Carol Stanislaus welcomed Mr McPhee to the organisation.
“Rob is joining Danila Dilba after several years of strong growth, and we’re looking forward to the fresh new perspective he’ll bring to the organisation,” she said.
She also thanked the Ms Havnen for her contribution and impact on Aboriginal health services in the region.
“We were delighted that the NAIDOC committee of Darwin accepted our nomination for Olga to receive the Lifetime Achievement award; it’s a real testament to her steadfast commitment to the people and communities of the Northern Territory,” she said.
“The Danila Dilba we know today would not exist without Olga’s passion and dedication.”
