Under the contract, entry to “aquatic components” of the centre, including the pool and children’s waterplay area, will remain free, while other fees will be determined annually.
City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said the council was looking forward to partnering with the company to deliver SWELL to the community.
Belgravia Leisure chief executive Nick Cox said the company was pleased to be part of the project.
“We are excited to be a part of the City of Palmerston’s journey to deliver its vision for SWELL: to create A Place for People,” he said.
This means tapping into the wisdom of the Palmerston community to provide them with a place where they can not only meet their health and fitness goals, but also spend time together as a community.”
Mr Cox also said the company would partner with the Palmerston and Regional Basketball Association (PaRBA) to provide youth employment opportunities.
