US election 2020: Kayleigh McEnany confident Donald Trump will ‘win outright’

Donald Trump’s press secretary Kayleigh McEnany has declared he will win the election “outright”, while disputing the ballot in one critical state.

Donald Trump’s press secretary has once again voiced her confidence that her boss will be victorious in his bid for another four years in the White House.

Speaking to Fox News, Kayleigh McEnany said that the US President was going to “win outright”, while disputing the ballot in Pennsylvania.

“We want fairness because we are going to win in a free election where the votes are counted fairly,” Ms McEnany told hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

If Mr Trump loses the key battleground state to Joe Biden – who is closing in – Ms McEnany said they will ask for any votes that were mailed on or after election day to be thrown out.

“Votes are counted on election day, so we are fighting for the American people to know sooner rather than later, we want the votes to be counted and we want the votes to be called,” she said.

To which MacCallum responded: “But Kayleigh, we always have had provisional ballots and military ballots, things that get counted later. The votes have to be in by November 3, that was what their state legislature and court system agreed to. It had to be postmarked by November 3, and then counted. The voting is happening on election day, it’s just how long it takes to get them counted.”

Ms McEnany said that Pennsylvania “want to extend it three days after”.

“And we believe if we go to the Supreme Court on this, we don’t even think this will be necessary, let me start there by saying we’re going to win outright, but should those three extra days of ballots matter, we believe we’ll prevail at the Supreme Court.”

Ms McEnany said the Supreme Court was a “mere hypothetical, because we will prevail by 40,000 votes, estimated in the state of Pennsylvania.”

During an extraordinary speech in the early hours of the morning, Mr Trump said that his team “want all voting to stop”, after declaring victory outright.

“We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election.

“So our goal now is to ensure the integrity for the good of this nation, this is a very big moment, this is a major fraud on our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner.

“So we’ll be going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at 4:00 in the morning and add them to the list, OK?”

Since the President made those claims, Ms McEnany has been on somewhat of a Twitter spree, declaring there’s been “shady” and “unacceptable” conduct at ballot centres in Michigan – a battleground state Mr Biden has now won.

She alluded to Fox News there was a similar situation at play in Pennsylvania, saying Philadelphia “in particular has a history of very peculiar results”.

“Just six months ago you had a Philadelphia judge who was convicted in a scheme to accept bribes as he cast fraudulent ballots. Four months ago, you had a Democrat individual who was charged for in 2014, 2015 and 2016 stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent ballots, so we want to be on alert,” she said.

“What that means is having people at the polls, volunteers, who can observe how the ballots are counted and ensure that it is counted accurately. Right now we’re not being given that, so that is what this lawsuit is all about.”

It’s worth noting multiple members of the Trump team – including Ms McEnany, the President’s son, Eric – have already declared victory in the state.
