US officials reportedly thought that Russian President Vladimir Putin chose an attractive female interpreter to “distract” former President Donald Trump during a 2019 summit.

Bombshell brunette Daria Boyarskaya, 36, was captured in a photo of Mr Putin and Mr Trump during the G-20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham says in her new book, I’ll Take Your Questions Now, that Russia adviser Fiona Hill viewed Ms Boyarskaya’s presence with suspicion.

“As the meeting began, Fiona Hill leaned over and asked me if I had noticed Putin’s translator, who was a very attractive brunette woman with long hair, a pretty face, and a wonderful figure,” Ms Grisham writes.

“She proceeded to tell me that she suspected the woman had been selected by Putin specifically to distract our President.”

While Ms Boyarskaya looked prim and proper in a demure dress during the meeting, glamour shots obtained by East2West News show her posing in a tight leather one-piece number with thigh-high boots, among other outfits.

Spokesman for Mr Putin, Dmitry Peskov, shot down Ms Grisham’s claim, denying the translator was some sort of spy-film-worthy secret weapon.

“Interpreters are provided by the Foreign Ministry at the request of the presidential administration. Putin himself is not involved in this process,” Mr Peskov said, according to East2West.

The outlet noted that Mr Putin had also employed Ms Boyarskaya three years earlier, during a sit-down with then-president Barack Obama in 2016.

She also appeared with Mr Putin during a meeting between her boss and then-National Security Adviser John Bolton in Moscow in October 2018, the outlet said.

Ms Boyarskaya, who graduated from the St Petersburg School of Conference Interpreting and Translation, is an amateur salsa and bachata dancer.

She has trained with the MamboGROUP in Moscow, where she was seen in a video, according to East2West News.

Mr Trump lashed out at Ms Grisham’s tell-all in a statement on Tuesday.

“Stephanie didn’t have what it takes and that was obvious from the beginning,” the former president said, claiming that Ms Grisham had become “very angry and bitter” after a relationship ended.

“She had big problems and we felt that she should work out those problems for herself. Now, like everyone else, she gets paid by a radical left-leaning publisher to say bad and untrue things.”
