Joe Biden takes lead from Donald Trump in key state of Georgia
Joe Biden has overtaken Donald Trump by more than 900 votes in the must-win state of Georgia for the President, with votes still left to count.
Democrat Joe Biden pulled ahead Friday in the crucial battleground state of Georgia, US media said, with votes still left to count.
The former vice president ate away at President Donald Trump’s initial lead in the southern state and is now ahead by 917 votes, CNN and Fox News reported.
Trump won Georgia by five percentage points in 2016.
Both candidates are currently sitting on 49.4 per cent of the vote with 99 per cent counted.

Biden was trailing in Georgia, a state that carries 16 electoral college votes, by 30,000 votes at one point.
He trimmed votes from the President in a number of ballot drops as Americans slept and cut the gap to just 463 votes overnight.
But a new batch of votes from Clayton County, just south of Atlanta, landed heavily in the Democrats’ favour. He received 1602 more votes compared to Trump’s 222 votes.
He now leads by more than 900.
Several counties in Georgia are expected to deliver more votes for Biden in the closest race of the election so far.
If Biden wins Georgia and holds on to Arizona (a state that has already been declared for the Democrats by AP and Fox News), he gets the 270 electoral college votes required to win the White House.
Elsewhere, Pennsylvania Democratic Senator Bob Casey told CNN that Biden could also leapfrog the President there.
“Joe Biden is going to win our state and he’s going to be the President,” Sen Casey said.
