'Never give up': Internet goes crazy for only social media site that hasn't banned Donald Trump
A social media site that hasn't banned Donald Trump is growing exponentially in users after the president was blacklisted everywhere else.
The online world has been sent into a frenzy after Donald Trump's banning from social media platforms.
One site that hasn't blacklisted him - Gab - has reported a massive increase in users.
The more conservative-friendly alternative social media platform to Twitter claims it is gaining 10,000 users an hour in the wake of Twitter permanently suspending President Trump’s account.
Gab launched in 2017 and calls itself a "social network that champions free speech, individual liberty and the new free flow of information online".
Conservatives have long complained that big tech companies censor their viewpoints in favour of liberals, a sentiment that was accelerated by Mr Trump’s suspension.
The increased traffic for Gab comes after Parler, which has become home to a growing number of conservative and alt-right voices, was banned from Apple and Google app stores after content users were sharing on the platform.
“No change without bloodshed!” a Parler user wrote as the crowd of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on Wednesday.
Parler CEO John Matze said he believes Amazon, Google, Apple had worked together to try and ensure they don’t have competition.
“They claim it is due to violence on the platform. The community disagrees as we hit number 1 on their store today,” he wrote.
Mr Matze pointed out “Hang Mike Pence” had become a trending topic on Twitter, before the network put a stop to it, "displaying the horrible double standard Apple and their big tech pack apply to the community".
