Donald Trump speaks after voting in 2024 US election with wife Melania Trump
Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump stopped to speak to the press after casting their ballots.
Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump have voted in the US election, with the former US president telling reporters he will concede the election this time if he loses – but only if it is “fair”.
The former US president and former first lady cast their ballots on election day in Palm Beach, Florida.
Mr Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, is allowed to vote in Florida (where he is a resident) as a convicted felon because for out-of-state convictions, Florida defers to the law in the state of conviction.
The 78 year old was convicted on 34 felony counts in New York, which allows convicted felons to vote if they are not incarcerated (Mr Trump has not yet been sentenced).

Mr Trump stopped to speak to reporters after casting his ballot, where he responded to concerns he would not concede the election if he loses.
He said he thinks people that think that are “crazy”.
“If I lose an election, if it’s a fair election, I’d be the first one to acknowledge it,” he said.
Mr Trump refused to concede to Joe Biden in the 2020 election and has continued to falsely claim his loss was the result of widespread fraud.

He said he thought the 2024 election had been fair “so far” when speaking to the press on Tuesday, local time, and went on to criticise the use of electronic voting machines, claiming “paper is more sophisticated now than computers”.
When asked if he would tell his supporters there should be no violence, he said he did not have to because Trump supporters “are not violent people”.
“I don’t have to tell them that. I certainly don’t want any violence but I certainly don’t have to tell … these are great people. These are people that believe in no violence,” he said.
The US Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, resulted in Mr Trump’s second impeachment by the US Congress for allegedly inciting the mob of supporters that attacked the Capitol. Five people died during the rampage. He was later acquitted by the US Senate.
On Tuesday, Mr Trump said he believed this would be his last campaign regardless of the result, but that it had been the best of his three campaigns.
Melania Trump, wearing big, dark sunglasses inside, stood next to her husband quietly – only saying “very good, thank you” when asked directly how she was feeling.
