Boulder shooting: All the victims of America’s sick massacre
When a gunman opened fire in a Colorado supermarket in a sickening mass shooting, he claimed 10 lives. These are their stories.
The 10 victims who died in the Boulder shooting in Colorado included three grocery store workers, a local small business owner and a police officer, with those killed ranging in age from 20 to 65.
The victims were identified after medical examiners “worked overnight” to confirm their names and notify their families, police in the Colorado city said on Tuesday, the New York Postreports.
Authorities identified those killed in the Monday attack as Denny Stong, 20, Neven Stanisic, 23, Rikki Olds, 25, Tralona Bartkowiak, 49, Suzanne Fountain, 59, Teri Leiker, 51, Eric Talley, 51, Kevin Mahoney, 61, Lynn Murray, 62, and Jody Waters, 65.
Eric Talley, a police officer and father-of-seven, was one of the first officers to respond to the shooting at the King Soopers location.
“He took his job as a police officer very seriously,” his father, Homer Talley, said. “He loved his kids and his family more than anything.”

Rikki Olds, 25 was an assistant front-end manager working at the supermarket, and had been working at the store throughout the pandemic.
“She loved her job, to be truthful with you, that’s probably what killed her,” her grandmother, Jeanette Olds told The Post.
Teri Leiker, 51, was also a worker at the King Soopers grocery store where the shooting took place – and loved her job, according to friend Lexi Knutson. She had worked there for some 30 years and was even dating a colleague.
“She loved going to work and enjoyed everything about being there,” Knutson told Reuters. “Her boyfriend and her had been good friends and began dating in the [autumn] of 2019. He was working yesterday too. He is alive.”
The youngest victim, Denny Stong, 20, worked at the supermarket too, but was training to be a pilot, according to a tribute on social media from a close friend’s mum.
“My heart breaks. My son’s best friend, Denny Stong was killed at the Boulder King Soopers yesterday. He was … training to become a pilot,” Laura Cole Spicer wrote.
Tralona Bartkowiak, 49, owned Umba, a local clothing store which collaborated with local artists and designers. She was remembered by friends on social media as one of the kindest people you’d ever meet.

“She was the kindest and sweetest lady you ever did know. All she wanted to do was help and share beauty with others. I am heartbroken for her family. Love you Lonna. you were such a light,” her friend Edica Pacha wrote.
“Our hearts go out to all the victims killed during the senseless act of violence. We are committed with state, local and federal authorities for a thorough investigation and will bring justice to each of these families,” Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold told reporters.
Chief Herold said the medical examiner’s officer worked into the early hours Tuesday to confirm the identities of the victims.
“The Boulder County Coroner’s Office worked overnight to identify all of the victims and notify the next of kin, which I’m extremely grateful for,” she said. “The last victim was removed from the scene at 1.30am (local time) today.
“By 2.02am all the victims have been identified. By 3.59am, the families of the victims have been notified.”
Police said a 21-year-old man, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, has been arrested in connection to the shooting rampage.
