Three children injured in daycare attack in Switzerland

Terrified parents rushed to the daycare centre as news emerged a man had barged in on a violent rampage, injuring children.

Three children have been injured after a man went on a violent rampage at a daycare centre in Zurich, Switzerland.

The shocking attack occurred just after midday local time in Zurich’s northern Oerlikon district, police said.

A suspect has been arrested, but police gave no further details on the attack.

Terrified parents were reportedly seen running to the daycare centre to find their children after news of the attack broke.

“There are at least six to seven police cars on site. The ambulance is also on the square with several vehicles,” an eyewitness told local media.

Zurich City Police said in a statement: “Shortly after twelve o’clock, the Zurich City Police were alerted to a violent crime on Berninastrasse. Three children were injured.

“A suspect was arrested in connection with this. There is no longer any danger to the public.”
