Live Breaking News: Queensland records 16 local cases as Delta cluster grows
Queensland authorities have been begging people to stay home as much as possible but a cult, world-famous baked good was too good to miss for hundreds of Brisbanites.
Queensland authorities have spent the past week begging people to stay home as the state works to drive down cases and emerge from lockdown on Sunday.
South-east Queensland residents are only permitted to leave home for a number of essential reasons including getting a vaccination, seeking or giving care, exercising and shopping for essential groceries.
And clearly a large number of Brisbane locals see Lune Croissanterie's cult baked goods as essential, with a line of more than one hundred people stretching out its door for its open day.
Customers lined up for hundreds of metres around the block from 5.30am this morning, two hours before the bakery opened.
Police were even seen doing drive-bys to ensure people were staying socially distant and wearing masks.
The Indooroopilly cluster is now 79 cases with a single case - a marine pilot who helps guide ships through the Great Barrier Reef up in Cairns - the 80th case.
