Coronavirus Australia live updates: Victoria reports 108 new virus cases
More suburbs are being locked down after Victoria reported its second-biggest 24-hour spike in coronavirus cases of the entire pandemic.
Victoria has reported a dramatic triple digit spike in coronavirus infections, with 108 new cases identified in the last 24 hours.
Premier Daniel Andrews has announced two new postcodes will have stay at home orders imposed, as the state government grapples with the escalating numbers.
New South Wales also reported a dramatic increase in its figures today, with 189 historic cases from Ruby Princess crew members added to the state's tally. Those cases actually occurred months ago.
But NSW Health have just confirmed they have been added to the tally months after they occurred, taking the total number of cases in Australia to 8255.
