A WOMAN posted a picture of herself, covered in blood, on Facebook with a desperate plea for help after her husband brutally bashed her with a gun and then pulled the home phone out of the wall so she couldn't call police.

Susann Stacy from Kentucky posted the words "Help... please anyone" along with the confronting selfie on the popular social media site.

She told police she had no option but to turn to Facebook after her husband ripped the phone out of the wall, and her mobile phone had no service. Luckily she did have internet connection.

One of her friends who saw the post called the Leslie County police.

"She had several lacerations to the head. They appeared to be bad but we really couldn't tell at the time, due to her hair was matted to her, and the blood," Leslie County Sheriff's Deputy Sam Mullins told WKYT-TV.

Deputy Mullins said the husband, Donnie Stacy, hit his wife repeatedly with a gun following a fight. Police found the loaded weapon later in the couple's backyard by their son's tire swing.

Donnie Stacy faces assault charges at the Leslie County Detention Center, according to WKYT-TV.
