TRAVELLING can take its toll on even the most frequent of flyers, so it's good to know there are oases of comfort inside the airport - for those with the cash.

These airport lounges around the world ease the pain with butler services to spa treatments, pool tables, cinemas and even the ultimate airport offering for weary travellers - a bed.

Those flying first class with Air France can even check-in at a private gate and be driven to the plane in a Mercedes.

But if it's something a little closer to home you're after, the new Qantas First Class Lounge at Sydney Airport stands out with its interior design by Marc Newson and food by Neil Perry.

And don't worry, even economy passengers can take in some luxury - although it'll cost you!

The Finnair Lounge in Helsinki is open to all Finnair travellers, although cattle class passengers will need to pay an extra $58 to enjoy the lounge's four saunas and plunge pool overlooking the runway.
