Fourth Australian dies in Bali in 3 weeks, after man fatally collapses in Denpasar airport
An Australian man has died after suddenly collapsing in a Bali airport, becoming the fourth Aussie to die on the island in three weeks.
A fourth Australian has died in Bali in the space of three weeks.
The man collapsed about 12pm local time on Thursday in the Denpasar airport international arrivals area.
He was taken to BIMC Hospital in Kuta but medical treatment could not revive him.
In a statement, an airport spokesman said the man had fallen suddenly, as if he fainted.
Authorities are yet to formally confirm the man’s identity.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement “We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time”.
“Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment.”
On September 1, 67-year-old Victorian woman Pamela Phillips died while diving on an island directly east of Bali on Sunday.
On August 30, 30-year-old New South Wales man Thomas James Cossins died in a motorbike crash on the northern coast of Bali.
On August 18, 30-year-old Perth man Shane Ramsay crashed a motorbike in the popular tourist area of Seminyak, north of Kuta. His life support system was later turned off in a Perth hospital.
