Hotel workers from around the world have revealed some of the bizarre and downright disgusting finds they have found once a guest checks out.

It’s happened to most of us during a hotel stay.

A forgotten iPhone charger, perhaps some socks under the bed or even your passport in the top drawer of the bedside table.

Now, hotel staff have unleashed and revealed some of the most shocking, sexy and even bizarre items left behind by guests.

The discussion, which took place on Reddit, had users ask hotel workers questions about some of the weird things they had found in hotel rooms after guests checked out.

One person to respond was ‘Rattler00’, who revealed how they found a gun underneath a mattress.

“Guest called me at the desk while he was driving and asked me to go look for it after he remembered leaving it there,” the person explained on the forum.

“In hindsight, I should have made his ass go up there himself and get it, instead of bringing it to the back office myself.”

Another person to respond to the forum, named ‘Korbindallas912’, said that during a shift at a hotel in Las Vegas, “a high roller left $US328,000 [$A459,000] cash in the safe in his suite”.

“I met up with a security guard to watch me carry it down to the casino cage. Most money I have ever had in my possession at once,” they said.

Another, who found drugs during a clean and a “literal crack pipe in the freezer”, said they were told to throw any substances away.

“I was told to never ask questions and just throw any drugs away that we found,” they wrote.

Reddit user ‘Turquoise_Tentacle’ revealed a disgusting find in one room.

“I found the ice bucket with an inch or so layer of nail clippings in it and an Arkansas license plate under the mattress both in the same room, same day” the comment read.

Another wrote of the horror they found in a room that had been booked by three young men.

“After they had spent a weekend there, the whole room smelled like sweat and booze, there were bottles and pizza boxes everywhere and clearly there had been more people than the three guys,” the comment read.

“Worst part was that someone had taken a sh*t on one of the beds … Not a smear on the sheets, no, an actual f***ing large turd. And I mean unless they did it minutes before checking out, they had stayed, and perhaps slept in a room with the giant turd on a bed.”

According to the responses, an unnamed maintenance worker who said they worked at a “well-known” hotel chain, claimed they found an unedited adult film on an SD card.

Hotel workers say the clean often comes with unwelcome surprises.

“I was called to the room to fix an HVAC unit, and on my way out, it was standard practice

to look the room over, make sure we didn’t miss anything,” the person wrote, adding they saw an SD card and grabbed it.

“I put it in my pocket and forgot all about it till later that night when I got home and was putting my wallet and keys up,” the person wrote.

“Curious, I put the SD card into my computer, figuring it had business files and random uninteresting bullsh*t on it. I was very surprised to find an unedited porn scene, showing not only the ‘lovers’ but also the camera crew.”
