Woman kicked off flight after raging at Trump supporter
Footage of a female passenger being booted from her flight after furiously unleashing on her Trump-supporting seatmate has resurfaced online.
Footage of a female passenger was removed from her flight home after furiously unleashing on her Trump-supporting seatmate has resurfaced online, following the President-elect’s election victory.
Video of her exchange – at first with the man beside her, and then with multiple flight attendants – was captured and shared to social media back in January 2017, following Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.
In the clip, the male passenger – Scott Koteskey, who voted for Mr Trump at the time, and also filmed their interaction – can be heard flagging down a flight attendant and telling her: “She has called me names and insulted me just for sitting on the seat, saying that I came here to celebrate (the inauguration) today.”
“Is there going to be a problem?” the attendant then asks the woman, to which she responds: “There will be. I would like for him to change seats with someone who did not come to celebrate.”
“Well, you don’t have that right,” the attendant tells her, before going to seek reinforcements.
It’s at this point the female passenger really lets rip – turning to the man beside her to deliver a scathing rebuke of his presidential preference.
“You pretend you have the moral high ground, but you put that man’s finger on the nuclear button,” she tells him.
“That man doesn’t ‘believe’ in climate change. Do you believe in gravity? Did you know gravity is just a theory?”
Another flight attendant, this time a man, then approaches their row, and asks the woman to “grab your belongings and come with me”, adding, “We’re going to have to take you off the plane.”
A back-and-forth between the attendant and the woman then ensues, in which she refuses to get off the flight because “I paid for this seat and I’m sitting in it”.
“He is in my space,” she says of the passenger beside her.
“She’s causing hostilities,” he tells the attendant.
“We can do this one of two ways, ma’am,” the attendant interjects.
“I need you to grab your belongings and come with me, or I can have you escorted off the plane.”
The woman responds: “I’m going home now. There is no way I’m getting off this plane.”
“I cannot have issues on this plane,” the attendant tells her, “and you are causing a lot of issues right now.”
“Fine, I’ll be quiet. I’ll just drink,” the woman (somewhat relatable) tells him.
The attendant responds that she will not be served alcohol – given her conduct thus far – and is told by a colleague that the plane’s captain has also requested she be removed.
“My husband lost his mother. Have some respect,” the woman says.
Her husband then asks the attendant whether he and his wife can stay on board if they “trade seats and she quiets down”.
“Unfortunately at this point, the captain has already made the call …(We) can’t do that,” the attendant tells them.
After the lengthy exchange, the couple were, eventually, “swiftly escorted” off the plane.
