16-year-old Caroline Cruz, who has in the past shared that she disagrees with her father’s politics, couldn’t hide her disdain for the President-elect.

The daughter of a senior US politician has shown vividly how she disagrees with her father’s politics.

16-year-old Caroline Cruz is the daughter of Senator Ted Cruz.

She visibly grimaced as she stood on stage next to her father as he praised Mr Trump.

These were the highlights from the aftermath of the US election on Friday.

Joe Biden gave an emotional speech addressing his Vice President, Kamala Harris’s, failed campaign, urging supporters to “keep the faith”.

He also appeared to take some potshots at Mr Trump saying: “On January 20, we will have a peaceful transfer of power here in America.”

Last time, of course, Mr Trump undermined that peaceful transfer, trying to stay in power despite having lost the election.

Mr Biden urged Americans, presumably including Mr Trump, to stop “questioning” the legitimacy of the electoral process.

Mr Biden has already said that he has invited Mr Trump to the White House for an initial meet-and-greet, and will work on a transition with the Trump team.
