Sydney’s coronavirus outbreak sees passengers on ‘flights of concern’ ordered into isolation

Passengers on board two flights between NSW and New Zealand have been ordered into 14-day quarantine by health authorities.

What are the new COVID-19 restrictions for Sydney and NSW?

Travellers on board two different “flights of concern” between NSW and New Zealand have been ordered into mandatory 14 day self-isolation by authorities.

The mandate comes hot on the heels of New Zealand halting its travel bubble with the state on Tuesday night.

Fresh alerts have also been issued for a series of new sites across Sydney including a famous Bondi restaurant, a Woolworths and high-end designer store.

NSW recorded an alarming spike in cases on Tuesday with 10 new infections since yesterday, with 21 now linked to the Bondi outbreak.

Any passengers on board the following flights are considered close contacts and must get tested and go into self-isolation for 14 days, regardless of the results.

Sydney to Wellington: QF163 (Qantas) June 18 departing Sydney at 7.05pm and arriving in Wellington at 12.12am, June 19.

Wellington to Sydney: NZ247 (Air New Zealand) June 21 departing Wellington at 10.13am and arriving in Sydney at 11.33am.

Anyone who attended the following venues during these times is considered a close contact and must get tested and then self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of if a negative test result is received.

Bondi: Totti’s Bondi (inside the Royal Bondi), 283 Bondi Rd, June 19 5pm – 6.30pm.

Mascot: Wallabies Thai Restaurant (anyone who dined in the outside area) 2/1-5 Bourke St Mascot, June 19 11.30am -12pm.

Bondi Junction: Chanel fragrance and beauty in Westfield Bondi Junction, June 18 12pm to 12.25pm.

Sydney: ANZ 20 Martin Place (anyone on level two), June 17, 11.45am – 3.15pm.

Anyone at the following locations are considered a casual contact and must get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

Bondi: The Royal Bondi (other than Totti’s) 283 Bondi Rd, June 19 5pm – 6.30pm.

Spring Farm: Woolworths 254 Richardson Rd, June 20 9.30am – 10am.

Mascot: Wallabies Thai Restaurant (anyone who dined inside) 2/1-5 Bourke St Mascot, June 19 11.30am -12pm.

Bondi Junction: Starbucks, Westfield Bondi Junction level two, June 1811am to 12pm.

Sydney: ANZ 20 Martin Place (anyone on ground or level one), June 17, 11.45am – 3.15pm.

Anyone at the following venue should monitor for symptoms and get tested if they become unwell.

Mascot: Mascot Central Shopping Precinct, Etherden Walk, any time from June 18 – June 22.

Health authorities are also concerned about the detection of covid fragments in wastewater fragments at the Brooklyn sewage treatment plant and Lough Park sewage network.

The Brooklyn sewage treatment plant includes Dangar Island, Cowan, Brooklyn, Mooney Mooney and Cheerio Point.

Lough Park sewage includes the suburbs of Clovelly, Waverley, Randwick, Centennial Park, Queens Park, Bondi, Bondi Junction, Bellevue Hill, Double Bay and Woollahra.

“NSW Health is asking everyone in these areas to be especially vigilant in monitoring for symptoms, and if they appear get tested and isolate immediately until a negative result is received,” NSW Health said in a statement.

“Anyone with even the mildest of cold-like symptoms is urged to immediately come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received.”

Sydney’s covid exposure sites continue to grow

The new exposure sites join a long list of other venues which now span across greater Sydney and the Illawarra.

Anyone who visited the following venues at the times listed below is considered a close contact of a covid case and must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days from your visit, even if a negative result is received.

Bondi Junction to North Sydney: 200 bus, June 14 from 4.25pm-5pm travelling from Bondi Junction Interchange to Blue St, North Sydney

Baulkham Hills to Sydney: 614X bus, June 15 from 8.40am-9.23am travelling from Gooden Drive to Stand J, Wynyard Station on York Street.

Sydney to Baulkham Hills: 614X bus, June 15 from 5.44pm-6.29pm travelling from Clarence Street to Gooden Drive.

Barangaroo: David Jones on June 12 from 10.55am-11.15am
