Eerie photos of abandoned tourist hot spots show impact of coronavirus

These iconic destinations are usually heaving with massive crowds, but the threat of coronavirus has left them largely abandoned.

At any other time these famous attractions would be crowded with tourists — but fear over the spread of coronavirus have left them deserted.

Some of these must-visit spots, such as in Milan and Hanoi, have been abandoned by tourists seeking to avoid the possible spread of the killer disease.

Others, like China’s Forbidden City, the Louvre Museum in Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, have been officially closed in response to the unfolding health emergency.

Many have been impacted by travel bans and heightened warnings, such as the Australian government’s fresh advice for Italy and South Korea.
