‘Apocalyptic’: Activist films sketchiest pedestrian underpass he has ever seen
An activist has shared a confronting video of the “sketchiest pedestrian underpass” he has ever seen. What confronted him in the tunnel left him truly disturbed.
An American activist who advocates for the homeless has shared what he describes as the “sketchiest pedestrian underpass” he has ever seen.
Kevin Dahlgren’s confronting video taken in Portland, Oregon has been viewed more the two million times on X, formerly Twitter, and shows a dark underpass completely covered in rubbish and broken tiles.
In the middle, a man lay on the ground wrapped in blankets.
“I walked through the sketchiest pedestrian underpass I have ever seen,” he wrote.
“Every inch of the ground was covered in broken tile or trash. In the middle was a man talking to himself.
“He then started screaming but after giving him a smoke he calmed down. I asked how often pedestrians walked past him. ‘Hardly ever’ he said.
“Considering this is the only way to safely cross the street this is a lawsuit waiting to happen if a pedestrian instead runs across the street and gets run over.”

Shocked social media users described Mr Dahlgren as brave for even venturing down there.
“There’s absolutely nothing on the other side of that tunnel that I need bad enough to walk through there,” wrote one person.
“That is straight out of apocalyptic movie. That’s so bad,” said another.
Mr Dahlgren previously worked in social services and frequently posts videos on social media speaking with people who experience homelessness.
He describes himself as “a disrupter of the Homeless Industrial Complex” and collects donations for his work, which is sometimes controversial.
