GET ready for the dive of your life.
Welcome to the deepest — and scariest — pool on the planet. The Y-40 Deep Joy pool reaches a jaw-dropping depth of 40 metres. That’s equivalent to a 12-storey building. Let that sink in for a minute.
The pool, which opened in June, is located inside the Hotel Terme Millepini, in the small Italian town of Montegrotto Terme.
It holds 4300 cubic metres of water, and you don’t have to worry about it being freezing in the depths below; it’s regulated at 32-34 degrees celcius.
Visitors can scuba dive, free dive or do aqua fitness sessions at the pool.
If you’re a fan of larger-than-life pools, you’ll also want to check out Chile’s San Alfonso del Mar resort. At one-kilometre long, the resort’s tropical blue lagoon has received the nod from the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest swimming pool.
