Uber releases list of the most Ubered-to attractions on the planet
These are the global attractions where the most people booked Ubers to visit in 2019. A Sydney favourite has beaten some of the world’s best.
An Australian icon has made the list of the world’s most visited tourist attractions, according to Uber.
The ride-sharing platform has looked back at its 2019 data to find out which global sites saw the most people booking rides to visit.
Two New York City icons came first and second, with the Empire State Building topping the list for another year, followed by Freedom Tower.
Toronto’s CN Tower came in third, followed by a Paris triple-act with the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and The Louvre in spots four, five and six.
The Sydney Opera House made the cut in 11th spot, beating major tourist hot spots such as the Berlin Wall, The Vatican and the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Queensland’s Hervey Bay saw the second-biggest increase in the world in terms of the number of tourists who Uber-ed there.
It saw riders from 50 different countries this year, compared to just 20 the year before, suggesting the stunning location’s good reputation is spreading further and further afield.
Year-in-review data from Uber Australia revealed also Uber users from 83 countries used the app when visiting Australia in 2019.
The best-rated riders were from the Gold Coast, and the fastest pick-up happened in Brisbane, in three seconds, Uber Australia said.
The busiest day of the year for Uber in Australia was AFL Grand Final day.
