Aldi launches mammoth travel Special Buys sale over Easter long weekend
In the middle of what’s set to be a bumper travel period for Australians as the Easter weekend nears, budget retailer Aldi has jumped in on the action.
In the middle of what’s set to be a bumper travel period for Australians as the Easter weekend and Anzac Day fall just days apart, budget retailer Aldi has jumped in on the action.
Aldi has announced they will be rolling out a mammoth ‘travel-inspired’ special buys even on Saturday 19 April — smack bang in the middle of the Easter long weekend.
The retailer has decided to bring back a string of popular Special Buys items to its much-loved middle section with travellers sure to get bargain deals — especially when it comes to electronics.
One of the standouts for this sale is the Premium Noise Cancelling Headphones for under $70 — and given some rivals such as the Sonos Ace Noise Cancelling headphones will set you back close to $700, or the Dyson OnTrac at a similar price point, these budget alternatives are a bargain.
With up to 60 hours of battery life with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) enabled (or 80 hours disabled), the headphones look chic in either grey or black. With a build in microphone, the device comes in a premium carry case — making these headphones perfect for travelling.
By now everyone has heard of packing cubes, and for those who like a little structure in their suitcase — you can’t go wrong with a set.
But while some brands will set you back upwards of $60 (and sometimes over $100) — this set of three as part of the travel sale will cost you less than a Big Mac meal.
At just $8.99, the set of three packing cubes have a 2-way zipper opening, with sizes being 40cm x 30cm x 13cm, 30cm x 28cm x13cm, and 30cm x 21cm x13cm.
On the luggage front, there’s plenty of options this time around — and if you’re a fan of a soft bag rather than the hard case, you’re in luck.
The German retailer will have a 2-piece soft set for under $100, with each bag featuring a set of double spinner wheels and an expandable main compartment.
Weighing 2.75kg, it means you’ll be able to pack in more without tipping over the limit. There’s also a smaller softcase Carry On for $44.99, weighing just 2kg and is perfect for taking in to the cabin with you.
The sale comes less than a year after the German supermarket giant entered into new and unexpected territory – travel.
In a first for Aussie supermarkets, the popular retailer announced last October they’d be taking things to a whole new level by launching the Aldi Holidays online portal.
It means Aussie shoppers can now plan their next holiday with a bunch of exclusive Aldi escapes, cruises and tour deals.
