Virgin partners with Myer to offer new frequent flyer perks

A new partnership between an iconic Australian retail store and a major airline allows frequent flyers to use their points at online stores.

Pay with Points

More than 10 million Virgin Velocity frequent flyers will be able to use their points to buy thousands of products at Myer online stores from Tuesday.

The partnership will be welcomed by existing members of Myer’s loyalty program, MYER One, as all purchases are eligible for credits.

“As Australians face rising inflation, we know that value is more important than ever and our members will easily find impressive, inspirational ways to use their Points online at Myer to stretch their dollar further,” Velocity Frequent Flyer chief executive Nick Rohrlach said.

Velocity has partnered with 7-Eleven, Medibank, United Airlines and Qatar Airways just in the last 18 months.

“With the return of travel, we have seen strong growth in new Velocity members this year and are well on our way to 11 million members,” Mr Rohrlach said.

On average, one person in every Australian household now has a Velocity Frequent Flyer membership.

“Myer is excited to be working with Velocity Frequent Flyer as the exclusive retail redemption partner for their Velocity program,” Myer chief customer officer Geoff Ikin said.

“At a time when Australians are looking to make their dollar stretch further, Myer has been building new ways to provide value to Australians.”

Myer also recently partnered with Commbank to create their “Pay with Points” program, which allows points to be used to pay for part, as well as a whole purchase.
