If you’ve been thinking about taking a holiday in your own backyard, there’s never been a better time to do so.

With the weather still warm and communities around the country impacted by the bushfires now back open for business – this latest deal from Virgin Australia couldn’t have come at a better time.

The airline has slashed prices on domestic flights as part of its City Breaks and Beach Escapes Sale, which includes discounts of up to 30 per cent on some routes.

The cheapest fare will set you back around $89 one-way, with the sale kicking off from Monday until midnight this Wednesday to selected destinations.

Some of the best fares include a trip from Sydney to the Gold Coast from $89 one way, a flight from Melbourne to Sydney from $99 one way or a trip from Sydney to Cairns from just $145 one way.

If you’re keen to venture abroad, online travel booking retailer Webjet has launched its annual USA & Canada sale.

Featuring routes to major destinations across North America – including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Vancouver – fares start from less than $900 return.

You will need to book your trip between March 2 and December 31, 2020, and the best bit is the discounts apply ON TOP OF Air New Zealand’s current USA, Canada and South America sale

If you’re looking for an even cheaper fare and a destination slightly closer to home, flights to the Philippines have dipped to under $220 as part of a post-Valentine’s Day sale.

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest low-cost carrier, is pushing Australians to visit the Philippines’ untouched islands from just $214 one-way from Sydney and Melbourne when booked before February 20, 2020. But you have to travel between March 1 and July 31, 2020.

The Philippines has been a popular spot for global tourism in the past few years. While Japan has been the world’s fastest-growing major travel destination, last year South Korea tourism increased by 14.4 per cent, Vietnam jumped 16.2 per cent and visitors to the Philippines went up by 15.1 per cent – indicating even bigger growth in 2020.
