Intrepid Travel offers massive sale on Antarctica trips
Travellers can save 40 per cent on trips to the one crowd-free place that avoided the pandemic — and there seems no better place to escape.
There’s one large region of the world that’s been untouched by the COVID-19 pandemic, and if that’s not a good enough reason to visit, this travel deal will be.
Intrepid Travel has launched a massive sale on its Antarctica expeditions, with passengers able to save up to 40 per cent if they book now on trips for the 2021-22 season.
The deal, offered worldwide until September 30, offers massive savings on more than 10 trips to the icy continent for customers who book by phone.

It includes Intrepid’s 11-day Best of Antarctica voyage, which takes travellers to incredible islands around the Antarctic Peninsula, and the 14-day Journey to the Circle and Giants of Antarctica, which is in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund.
Antarctica, where the population is only as high as 5000 in summer but as low as 1000 in winter, is the only continent with no confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Intrepid said the continent had firmed as a highly desirable destination for pent-up travellers’ first trips away — perhaps because it was so free from crowds.
“As travellers continue to dream of their future adventures, places like Antarctica that offer a deeper connection with the natural world will be heavily desired,” Sarah Clark, Intrepid’s general manager of APAC, said.
“Everyone is thinking of their next big trip and for many Antarctica is at the top of their bucket list.”
Most of the Antarctica journeys depart from Argentina, and the 2021-22 season begins in the later months of 2021.
Even though they’re more than a year away, the tours will operate according to Safe Travel protocols designed for COVID-19, which includes sanitation, physical distancing, hand and respiratory hygiene and other health standards.
Customers can pay in full for the maximum discount, but alternate discounts with reduced deposits are also available.
Travellers will be offered a 110 per cent credit for a future trip if their Ocean Endeavour trip is cancelled by Intrepid.
