Insane flights: $281 to the Greek Islands
International travel is well and truly back — and if you want to get to Europe for a summer like no other, this new deal is for you.
Dig your passport out – Scoot Airlines has just dropped a flash sale.
After two years of almost zero international travel and hefty airfares, comes a flash sale so good, you’ll think you’re dreaming.
Low-cost airline Scoot is responsible for the epic bargains, releasing flights to Greece from Melbourne, from just $562 return ($281 one way). Sydneysiders and those in the Gold Coast are also in for a treat, with $591 and $610 return fares up for grabs.
Although it may seem too good to be true, expert Garth Adams, founder of cheap flights site I Know The Pilot, reassures that it’s definitely worth every penny.
“These flights are via Singapore – and are carry on only. But believe it or not, some travellers opt not to take luggage and can take full advantage of the low-cost airfares.”
If checked luggage is non negotiable for you, Garth adds, “Others travelling as a couple can take just one set of checked luggage.”
Scoot’s cheap-as-chips sale to Greece isn’t the only airline dropping its fares.
“There are already some airlines taking advantage of the lack of competition,” Garth notes.
“Earlier this week Air Canada started offering flights in the mid $900-range from Sydney and Melbourne to LAX, but you have to go via Vancouver.”
If your dream holiday destination has yet to reduce in price, hang in there, as Garth explains it is a matter of time before we start to see more frequent sales.
“Most airlines have reduced flights to Australia, or have completely pulled out. This is especially noticeable on flights to the USA which used to be around $900 – $1000, but now are around $1300 and more for direct flights.”
“Once the airlines return then the prices will drop back down.”
