How to nab one of Victoria’s latest $200 travel vouchers

Holiday-makers will be able to get $200 of their costs reimbursed through a popular scheme which is set to release 140,000 more vouchers.

Travel vouchers reinstated to support Victorian tourism operators

Victorians can again attempt to get their hands on one of the state’s travel vouchers with another round of the scheme is set to be launched.

The popular program provides successful applicants $200 reimbursement on travel plans within the state, when they spend more than $400 in associated costs.

Holiday-makers must also stay in paid accommodation such as hotels, serviced apartments, caravan parks or campsites for at least two nights to recoup the costs.

Vouchers nabbed this week — expected to be 140,000 — will need to be used for travel between April 8 and May 27 this year.

The latest round will be kicked off with a ballot geared towards senior Victorians who may have missed out on how fast tickets were snapped up in previous rounds.

To be eligible, residents must hold a valid Victorian Seniors Card or Seniors Business Discount Card.

Tourism Minister Martin Pakula said the fresh launch would give embattled tourism operators a post-summer injection of visitors.

“This fourth round of the program gives them another chance to experience the best our state has to offer,” he said.

“Our state has some of the best destinations and attractions in the world and we’re encouraging Victorians to discover something new and also support local businesses and jobs.”

The schemes expand on previous rounds of Melbourne and regional travel vouchers.

More than $159m has been spent on accommodation, tours and experiences across the state to date.
