A LUXURY resort overlooking a deep gorge 2000m above sea level will open in Oman in the Middle East early next year.

Alila Jabal Akhdar is in the Al Hajar mountains range about 150km from the international airport in Muscat. The eco-friendly resort will have 78 suites, six loft suites and two Royal Omani Villas, as well as restaurant and bar, day spa, heated outdoor and indoor pools and gym. It has been designed to blend in with the environment, with strong use of local stone mixed with contemporary architecture and private courtyards.
