Why everyone wants to stay at this hotel

IN A true rags to riches tale, a one-eyed pug called Parker has landed a job as a concierge at this iconic up-market hotel.

A hotel this fabulous needs a one-eyed pug as concierge, and the name Parker is the icing on the cake.

NEW staff appointments at hotels are rarely of any interest to guests, except in the very exceptional case of this very exceptional worker.

Parker, a one-eyed rescue pug, has just been “hired” as the new concierge at the Park Hyatt on Chicago’s famous Magnificent Mile and everyone has gone wild with puppy fever.

The five-year-old pooch was rescued in Tennessee, suffering from an irreparably damaged eye, painful skin tags, rotting teeth and a urinary tract infection, the Chicago Tribute reports.

After finding a hero in animal welfare group PAWS Chicago, she found a loving new owner with Walter Brindell, the general manager at the high-end Park Hyatt, where Parker now lives and “works” as a concierge.

Decked out in a Burberry bandana that puts everyone else’s work uniform to shame, the pampered pooch greets guests at the hotel front door and plays with people sitting in the hotel lobby.

She follows staff to meetings, rides in the elevator and even escorts guests to their rooms.

Brindell said she was the perfect dog for the hotel because she was friendly without being overly excitable.

“She’s a very quiet, reserved pup, and she loves everybody,” Brindell told the Chicago Tribune.

After she was rescued, Parker’s damaged eye was removed to reduce swelling and infection.

Her skin tags and infected teeth were removed, her urinary tract infection was treated and she underwent surgery to help her breathing.

Now, Parker gets plenty of work perks, with her human colleagues rostered to take Parker on walks, feed her and administer her medication each day.

She has her own bed at the front desk.

“For the staff, the associates, without question, it has just put a smile on their faces and it brings in an element to hotel environment that was not there before,” Brindell said.

And perhaps never had the Park Hyatt been so Insta-worthy.

Since Parker came on board, guests and visitors have flooded social media with selfies with the super-cute pup.
