Inside European island you can rent for just $50 a night
There’s a European island you can rent for just $50 per night, and while it does sound pretty amazing, there’s one little catch.
You can spend the night in a lighthouse on an island all to yourself for just $50 per person per night.
The Porer lighthouse was built in 1833 on an islet, just a few kilometres from Istria in Croatia.
The lighthouse has a 35-metre tower with two apartments inside.
Each apartment has two bedrooms, along with a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen, The Sun reports.
But there’s one minor catch – you need to make sure you take everything with you that you’ll need. There is no food or drink on the island and it’s a 35-minute boat ride back to nearest village Premantura – at a cost of $70 each way.
However, skipper of the boat which services the island, Siniša Milutinović, will pick up supplies for you if you ask.
What he won’t be able to supply you with though is internet access as the island has no Wi-Fi.
The views make up for it – it takes just one minute to walk around the island which boasts amazing sunset views.
So for those who fancy going completely off-grid, this could be the perfect holiday. And it won’t break the bank.
Prices start from $190 a night on Airbnb — and with the apartment sleeping four people, it means each would only have to pay around $50 per night.
