Framed pictures of Nicolas Cage are becoming a thing hotel guests ask for

A HOTEL concierge has bent over backwards to assist one woman in her requests, even writing on post-it notes and placing them around her room alongside the odd items she desired.

IN THE emotional crescendo of Hollywood blockbuster, Con Air, Nicolas Cage’s character greets his estranged wife and daughter after bringing down a plane full of eccentric criminals.

During the dramatic reunification with his family, LeAnn Rimes’s hit song plays as she begs the heartfelt yet rhetoric question of “how do I live without you?”

Apparently it’s a sentiment that resonates deeply with a certain hotel guest. So much so that when she was asked by staff at Indigo Hotel in San Antonio if there was anything they could do to accommodate her, she responded with a rather peculiar request.

“Can I please have a framed picture of Nicolas Cage in Con Air on my bed by 6?” she wrote to the text-based concierge service.

Apparently an employee by the name of Ramon was more that happy to oblige and the picture promptly turned up with a posted note saying, “sweet dreams! Enjoy”.

But it didn’t end there.

On two more occasions during the woman’s stay she asked for framed pictures of the famous actor from films Moonstruck and 8mm. Again the hotel delivered the goods.

The Guest, who claimed to be on a business trip, posted the entire exchange on imgur and you can see it here.

It seems a shame to question such impeccable service with cynicism but some have speculated that it could have been a marketing technique to draw attention to the hotel.

However hotel staff have denied the claim.

Ramon, who responded to the initial request told San Antonio Express News“I immediately thought we were being trolled, so I figured I’d just go along with it.”

The hotel has even taken to Facebook to dispel any rumours of it being a marketing stunt.

As strange as the request is, it appears the woman is not alone. A year ago a separate hotel guest asked for the same thing in order to have the protective stare of the actor watch over them as they slept.

While another posted their success to twitter.

The road can be lonely, as they say. And no matter what you think about the Hollywood actor, perhaps it’s time hotel concierges keep a steady supply of Nicolas Cage on hand — for those that can’t live without him.
