Qantas launches $99 one-way flights to South Australia
Those looking for an Easter getaway to Australia’s wine capital are in luck, with Qantas offering a $99 sale on flights to Adelaide.
Those looking for an Easter getaway to the Barossa Valley are in luck: Australian airline Qantas has announced a week-long $99 one-way flight sale to South Australia.
Until next Thursday, March 18, the deal will be available to customers who book a return economy flight from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra or Perth (minimum total price $198) – providing them with ample opportunity to visit SA’s famous food and wine, beaches and Outback.
South Australian Tourism Commission chief executive Rodney Harrex said in a statement there hasn’t been a more exciting time for Australians to visit Adelaide and explore the state’s wineries, wildlife and natural wonder.
Qantas Group Chief Customer Officer, Stephanie Tully, said the airline was committed to helping boost tourism in South Australia and making it easier for Australians to explore their own backyard.
“We’re thrilled to encourage more Australians to visit South Australia and explore its fantastic food and wine scene. We’ve recently introduced even more flexibility on new bookings, so our customers can plan their next trip to Adelaide with confidence,” Ms Tully said in a statement.

Home to more than 200 cellar doors, wine tourism is a “crucial segment of South Australia’s visitor economy”, Mr Harrex added, as the state celebrates 2021 as the Year of South Australian Wine.
Long associated with being our nation’s wine capital, the Year of South Australian Wine will showcase the quality and breadth of winery experiences and events on offer across the state’s 18 wine regions.
As a bonus, Qantas Wine will also give customers a taste of SA’s wine regions – with a curated selection of South Australian wines on sale exclusively to its members.
“Welcoming interstate travellers to South Australia in support of our wine and tourism industry is a must. With such an array of experiences in Adelaide and regional South Australia, we really have something for everyone and there is no better time to explore our great state,” he said.

“With South Australia in such a great position when it comes to managing the impacts of COVID-19, it makes it an ideal time to travel and enjoy the wide variety of experiences on offer and we are pleased to partner with Qantas to offer such a great fare sale to our fellow Australians.”
Holiday-makers can also explore the best of South Australia with fares from $169 one-way when booking a return economy flight to Kangaroo Island, Whyalla, Mount Gambier and Port Lincoln from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne (minimum total price $338).

The sale comes just days after Qantas launched three new flight routes to Cooma and Albury, the gateways to New South Wales’ and Victoria’s ski resorts from July 1 until September 26.
From Cooma, customers can access the popular resorts of Perisher Valley, Thredbo and Charlotte Pass in NSW.
From Albury, customers can access Falls Creek and Hotham resorts in Victoria.
Flights from Sydney to Cooma are timed to allow travellers to depart after work on a Thursday or Friday and return Sunday evening, meaning a long weekend of skiing without losing time to driving.
The flights from Brisbane will offer Queenslanders the only direct airline connection to the snowfields this season.
