Airbnb offering $20 stay in Queensland home that inspired Bluey

The home of the famous cartoon dog family has been recreated in Brisbane, down to the tiniest details only true fans will recognise.

Live like Bluey

The iconic house that inspired the world-famous Bluey has been listed on Airbnb, and it’s up for just $10 a night.

Bluey, a cartoon about a blue heeler puppy and her family, is set in Brisbane and has taken the world by storm, screening in more than 60 countries.

And now one lucky family can rent the brightly-coloured Queenslander home, that is nestled on a tree-lined street in one of Brisbane’s most popular suburbs and will be listed from February 15.

The Heeler family home has been entirely customised to bring the cartoon to life and is full of quirky details that Bluey fans will quickly recognise.

The cartoon set has been recreated down to the finest details, including artwork from the family home’s walls seen in the show, and even custom-made replicas of Bluey and her sister Bingo’s toys in their bedroom and toy room.

This is the first “Only On Airbnb” experience to come to Australia, with the homesharing platform already offering a handful of lucky fans the opportunity to stay in the original Home Alone house in the US, the sprawling Italian villa featured in House of Gucci and Carrie Bradshaw’s New York City apartment from Sex and the City.

The Bluey home fits two adults and two children and will only be available to one lucky family from February 18 to 20.

Airbnb will list the home at 8am AEDT (7am Queensland time) on February 15 on a first come, first serve basis.

The two-night stay will cost $20 and includes an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the Ludo Studio, where Bluey is created, a Chinese takeaway feast in the backyard, an afternoon decorating the Heelers’ famous duck cake, a puppet making craft session featuring Bluey’s famous Bob Bilby character.

Bluey fans who miss out on the stay or live outside of Australia can participate in a unique and interactive online experience hosted by Bluey composer Jazz D’Arcy, and children’s choreographer Cherie Lang.

Airbnb Australia and New Zealand Manager Susan Wheedon said the house was a nice addition for families.

“Like many parents with young children, I’ve been captivated by the adventures of Bluey and her family, which bring so much joy and quintessential Aussie humour to audiences across the globe,” Ms Wheedon said.

“We’re delighted to add Bluey, Bingo, Chilli and Bandit to our growing community of Airbnb Hosts. And while we have some incredible homes on Airbnb, there will be nothing quite like waking up in the Heeler house and getting to live and breathe in Bluey’s magical world for one wondrous weekend.”
