Seal Bay and Kelly Hill parks will re-open today as the Department for Environment and Heritage adds more parks to the now-open list.
The South Australian Tourism Commission is about to launch a campaign to promote the message that Kangaroo Island is open for business as a holiday destination.
"In the wake of the fires, tourism will be a key factor in the recovery of the island," Tourism Kangaroo Island marketing manager Tania O'Neil said yesterday.
Today all KI parks will be open except for Flinders Chase National Park (which includes Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and Cape Borda), the Ravine des Casoars wilderness protection area, Western River wilderness protection area, Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park and Cape Gantheaume wilderness protection area.
