Brutal rat and pigeon fight on NYC street goes viral | Video

When a bloodthirsty rat and a streetwise pigeon go head to head in battle, there can only be one winner – the internet.

A vicious fight between a massive rat and a pigeon on the streets of New York City has gone viral and is making headlines around the world.

The bloodthirsty rat was filmed locked in battle with the pigeon – and it looked like the brawl was going to end in death for one of the city dwellers. But at the end of the video, the fight is broken up by a bystander who suddenly bashes the rat with a pole causing it to flee. The man then asks the pigeon: “Are you OK?”

A good Samaritan then stepped in and hit the rat with a stick.

“This might be the most New York sh*t I’ve ever seen … down to the hit out of nowhere lol,” a Twitter user who shared the video said on Thursday.

The video has gone viral and has been viewed more than 3 million times, attracting more than 120,000 likes.

Thousands have commented on the rat, saying it’s an example of how tough rodents in the Big Apple are. Others have said the bizarre battle is a metaphor for the resilience of New York City.
