British celebrity Katie Hopkins has reportedly had her Big Brother contract torn after she mocked Australia’s hotel quarantine.

British right wing personality Katie Hopkins has reportedly had her Big Brother contract torn up and could be forced to leave Australia after mocking the country’s hotel quarantine system during a 14-day stint in Sydney.

The controversial English personality — who was regularly retweeted by former US President Donald Trump before Twitter suspended her account last year — had flown into Australia to appear on reality show Big Brother.

But the 46-year-old took to Instagram Live on Saturday to boast she had been deliberately trying to defy hotel quarantine rules by answering her door naked when workers delivered her food.

Hopkins broadcast a 28-minute video of her live from what she claimed was a Sydney hotel room on Saturday morning, describing Covid-19 lockdowns as “the greatest hoax in human history” while joking about plans to breach quarantine rules.

“I’ve been told when they bring three meals a day to the door … I have to wait 30 seconds before opening the door,” she said.

“And then I can open the door but only with a face mask. Instead, she has said she had been “lying in wait” in the bathroom naked, sprinting to the door to “frighten the s**t out of them [the workers] and do it naked with no face mask”.

More than 10,000 people have since signed a petition to send the celebrity back home.

Seven Network, which will broadcast Big Brother, confirmed her contract, which was with production company Endemol Shine Australia, condemned her behaviour.

“Seven Network and Endemol Shine Australia confirm that Katie Hopkins is not part of Big Brother VIP,” the network said.

“Seven and Endemol Shine strongly condemn her irresponsible and reckless comments in hotel quarantine.”

The office for the Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews contacted NCA NewsWire to confirm Ms Hopkins’ visa conditions were being investigated by Australian Border Force for a potential breach.

“It is despicable that anyone would behave in such a way that puts our health officials and community at risk,” Ms Andrews said in a statement.

“Yesterday, I directed Australian Border Force to immediately consider the facts of this matter and urgently review whether this individual is complying with the requirements of her visa.

“Border Force have been responding to that overnight, and continue to do so today.”

Australia currently has a cap on international arrivals set at 3000 passengers a week but Ms Andrews’ office said Big Brother contestants were given visas outside of that cap.

“Contestants on Big Brother received an exemption based on support by the NSW Government,” she said.

“The NSW Government approved quarantine for Big Brother contestants above the quarantine cap.”

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce had given Ms Hopkins a towering serve on breakfast TV on Sunday.

Mr Joyce referenced his well-publicised feud with Hollywood megastar Johnny Depp, whose then wife Amber Heard illegally brought her two dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia on a private jet in 2015.

During the saga, Depp described Mr Joyce as “some kind of sweaty, big-gutted man from Australia”.

Mr Joyce said he would happily send Ms Hopkins packing if she wanted to break Covid-19 rules.

“I’m the one who wanted to send home Johnny Depp’s dogs home so I have no problem sending home someone (Ms Hopkins) who wants to flout our laws,” he told ABC Insiders host David Speers.

“If you want to do that, pack your bongo and get out of (the) country!”

Celebrity Big Brother will be filmed at Sydney Olympic Park, close to NSW’s largest vaccination hub.

It will be hosted by Sonia Kruger and is expected to air later this year.
