NSW Police arrest five people following brawl on M4 Motorway at South Wentworthville

Five people have been arrested after a fight erupted moments after a multi-vehicle crash on a busy motorway.

Four people are in custody and another in hospital under police guard after an early morning commute was thrown into chaos when a multi-vehicle crash erupted into a brawl on the side of a major Sydney motorway.

Emergency services were called following reports of a crash involving up to eight vehicles on the M4 Motorway at South Wentworthville about 3.45am on Wednesday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated several people at the scene.

NSW Police arrested five people after they allegedly got into a fight shortly after the crash.

One person allegedly involved in the brawl was taken to hospital with injuries and remains under police guard.

Four other people were taken to Granville and Parramatta police stations, where they are assisting police with inquiries.

An investigation into the incident continues.
