South Australian police are investigating after a passenger recklessly kicked their legs out of a car moving at over 100km/h on an Adelaide highway.

Passenger lucky to walk away after insane highway act

A driver on Adelaide’s busy Northern Expressway has captured the insane moment a passenger stuck their legs out of a car travelling at over 100km/h.

Footage of the incident obtained by 7News shows a person’s entire leg, up to their thigh, dangling from the rear window of a burgundy 4WD with P-plates.

The person bicycles and kicks their legs, and at one point, holds them out straight, with their feet coming dangerously close to the next lane.

South Australian police are investigating the matter and said in a statement, “The police are currently in possession of a video showing a passenger’s legs protruding from the window of a moving vehicle.

“Such reckless behaviour is unacceptable, posing significant risks not only to the individual involved but also to other motorists.

“Dashcam footage is often submitted to the police, and motorists should be aware that dangerous driving is frequently captured on video, greatly increasing the likelihood of being caught.”

The Northern Expressway is a relatively new stretch of highway running through Adelaide’s northern suburbs and has a top speed limit of 110km/h.
