'Need to stop': Insane dashcam crash

A horror crash which was easily avoidable has been caught on dashcam leaving social media users stunned.

A car driving on a main road was ploughed into by a small red car turning right, despite the red car not having right of way.

The first car blared his horn repeatedly but did not slow down, rather bafflingly, speeding up instead.

The footage was uploaded onto the site Dash Cam Owners Australia with social media users quick to attribute blame to both drivers – with nearly 1000 comments.

Many said the driver heading straight “needed to stop”.

“He applied the horn a mile away but didn’t brake, I mean seriously that was one of the most avoidable accidents I’ve seen,” one person wrote.

“Yes, the red car was at fault, but seeing as this car not only didn’t attempt to avoid but wilfully sped up, I would be very curious to see the legal outcome here,” a second wrote.

“That’s the worst example of defensive driving I have seen,” a third wrote.

Others defended the driver speeding up.

“To be fair he never envisioned the red car would play follow the leader,” one person wrote.

“I do as I have seen a lot of this scenario.”
